In Lutz, a car’s cabin can get dangerously hot in minutes, especially with stop-and-go traffic on Dale Mabry and US-41 and long drives up I-75. Window tint is one of the simplest ways to make a vehicle more comfortable. Here is how to pick the right film for window tint in Lutz.
Heat rejection matters more than darkness
Darker film is not always cooler. Ceramic and other advanced films block much of the infrared heat even in lighter shades, so you can stay comfortable and still see clearly at night. Dyed films mainly reduce glare and fade over time.
Know the Florida tint rules
Florida limits how dark you can go. For most cars, front side windows must let in more than 28 percent of light and rear side and back windows more than 15 percent. SUVs, trucks and vans can go darker on rear windows. Windshields are limited to a strip at the top. Read our full guide to Florida window tint laws, and ask us if you have a medical exemption.
UV and interior protection
Quality film blocks nearly all UV, which helps protect your skin and slows fading and cracking of dashboards and seats.
After your tint is installed
Keep windows rolled up for a few days while the film cures, and do not worry about small haze or water pockets at first. They clear as the film dries. Clean with a soft cloth and an ammonia-free cleaner. See how long window tint takes to cure in Florida.
